§ 18.3-230. Definitions.

For purposes of this article, the word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory. As used in this article, the following terms, phrases, words, and their derivations shall have the meaning given herein, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

(a)

Board means the board of county commissioners of the county.

(b)

Constitution means the constitution of the state.

(c)

County means Clay County, Florida.

(d)

Fire Control MSTU-1 means the MSTU created under Division 2 of this article.

(e)

Fire Control MSTU-2 means the MSTU created under Division 3 of this article.

(f)

Fire Control MSTU-3 means the MSTU created under Division 4 of this article.

(g)

Fire Control MSTU-4 means the MSTU created under Division 5 of this article.

(h)

Fire Control MSTU-5 means the MSTU created under Division 6 of this article.

(i)

Fire Control MSTU-6 means the MSTU created under Division 7 of this article.

(j)

Fire Control MSTU-7 means the MSTU created under Division 8 of this article.

(k)

Fire Control MSTU-8 means the MSTU created under Division 9 of this article.

(l)

Fire Control MSTUs means the eight (8) MSTUs created under Divisions 2 through 9 of this article.

(m)

Fiscal year means the annual period commencing on each October 1 and terminating on the next ensuing September 30, said period comprising the fiscal year of the county.

(n)

GCS City Limits means the area within the municipal boundaries of Green Cove Springs existing on January 1, 2007, and the first day of January of each year thereafter.

(o)

Green Cove Springs means the City of Green Cove Springs, a municipal corporation.

(p)

Keystone Heights means the City of Keystone Heights, a municipal corporation.

(q)

KH City Limits means the area within the municipal boundaries of Keystone Heights existing on January 1, 2007, and the first day of January of each year thereafter.

(r)

Law Enforcement MSTU-1 means the MSTU created under Division 10 of this article.

(s)

Law Enforcement MSTU-2 means the MSTU created under Division 11 of this article.

(t)

Law Enforcement MSTU-3 means the MSTU created under Division 12 of this article.

(u)

Law Enforcement MSTU-4 means the MSTU created under Division 13 of this article.

(v)

Law Enforcement MSTUs means the four (4) MSTUs created under Divisions 10 through 13 of this article.

(w)

MSTU means a municipal service taxing unit created under this article as authorized under Section 125.01(1)(q), Florida Statutes, within which the county may levy ad valorem taxes within the limits fixed for municipal purposes under the authority of the second sentence of Section 9(b), Article VII of the State Constitution.

(x)

Municipal corporation means a municipal corporation organized under the laws of the state.

(y)

Municipal purpose ad valorem taxes means the ad valorem taxes that a county is authorized to levy and collect for municipal purposes within a MSTU.

(z)

Penney Farms means the Town of Penney Farms, a municipal corporation.

(aa)

PF Town Limits means the area within the municipal boundaries of Penney Farms existing on January 1, 2007, and the first day of January of each year thereafter.

(bb)

State means the State of Florida.

(cc)

Unincorporated area means all of the unincorporated area of the county existing on January 1, 2007, and the first day of January of each year thereafter.

(dd)

Unincorporated Services MSTU means the MSTU created under Division 14 of this article.
