§ 2.3-9. Responsibilities of officials.

  • The board is the legislative body for county government. Ultimate responsibility for the administration of this chapter is vested in the county manager or designee as set forth in this chapter. Other officials having responsibility under this chapter are as follows:

    (1)

    The sheriff is responsible for enforcing this chapter within the unincorporated area of the county.

    (2)

    The county manager or designee is responsible for keeping all information processed for each application and shall serve as a document repository for inspection of documents by any applicant.

    (3)

    The building official of the county is responsible for inspecting establishments within the unincorporated area of the county in order to ascertain compliance with all applicable building codes, statutes, ordinances and regulations.

    (4)

    The fire chief of the county is responsible for inspecting establishments and businesses within the unincorporated area of the county in order to ascertain compliance with all applicable fire codes, statutes, ordinances and regulations.

    (5)

    The economic and development services director of the county is responsible for ascertaining whether the location of a proposed sexually oriented business or adult entertainment establishment within the unincorporated area of the county complies with all separation, distance, zoning and location requirements of the LDC and whether compliance with all applicable zoning regulations and land use laws is maintained.
